So I happened to pick up a book on Greek stories that gloated about their gods, monsters and heroes and I was sort of surprised when I realized that their God of Gods, Zeus, happened to be quite a womaniser and he would chase the women he desired until they sighed and gave up.
Before his marriage to Hera (Queen of Gods, also Goddess of marriage), Zeus consorted with a number of the female Titanes (and his sister Demeter). These liaisons are ordered by Hesiod as follows: (1) Metis (2) Themis (3) Eurynome (4) Demeter (5) Mnemosyne (6) Leto.
He fathered a number of offspring. And he tried his best to hide his affairs from his wife, Hera, who he loved dearly but nevertheless could not resist the temptation of another woman.
I'm sure by now the guys reading this post have begun to idolize him but seriously, infidelity is not cool.
It really makes me think can someone cite reasons of love and attachment to look over the fact that the lover is least bothered to remain true?

Well I think I am drifting away from the main theme here. What I really fail to understand is how Goddess Hera put up with such nonsense. Is it really that easy to forgive an unfaithful lover who has no sense of loyalty or dignity towards the partner he himself chose to be with?
It is a different thing all together that the women Zeus had an affair with had to face her wrath since she was an all mighty supreme goddess.
Doesn't help the mortals, does it now?
It really makes me think can someone cite reasons of love and attachment to look over the fact that the lover is least bothered to remain true? And what would I do if I ever was put in that spot?
What would you do?
Can the emotion of intense love ever take over the misery of immense pain?
