Dance has been the known as the expression that portrays stories, emotions and spirituality. This video is one from one of the episodes from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.
Every dancer on this show has a unique style yet what is more important that just dancing is the emotion you feel while dancing and how it touches of the million people watching. And this trend is not only prominent abroad. Why do you think in India too there are so many dance based reality shows?
We all know dance has numerous forms and styles from Hip-Hop to Contemporary; from Ballroom to Kathak, dance is something that touches everyone but not everyone can dance uninhibited and freely and hence dance which is an art becomes restrained.
I rememberer, as kids we have danced mindlessly on so many occasions, so happy and blissfully unaware and now I guess we think twice to just jump around (knowing how to dance is different thing all together) on any given occasion. Adulthood has probably restricted us in many ways.
Dance has found its way in religion, theatre, entertainment and social interaction. People choose dancing as a healthy way to tone themselves over gyms. I am too very passionate about dancing and I have taken a few lessons on ballroom. For many like me dancing is something that completely frees them.

A year back I attended this concert "Fastest Feet in Rhythm" Tata Theatre at NCPA. It Featured Pandit Chitresh Das, Jason Samuels Smith, Dormeishia Sumbry-Edwards and nine members of the Chitresh Das Dance Company and I witnessed an explosive collaboration between one of India’s foremost Kathak masters and one of the world’s fastest, Emmy-award winning tap dancers. This concert happens every year and you must pre-book tickets if you wish not to miss the show. It was a delight to see both Pt. Chitresh Das perform Kathak and Jason Samuels tap dance later followed by their Jugalbandhi.
If you guys have a little bit of interest in dancing you must definitely join classes like Sandip Soparrkars, Terence Lewis Academy or DanceWorx.
